Our client is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a strategically vital Technology team. This role is central to shaping the organisation’s efficiency and growth by designing, building, and securing a highly available hybrid environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the resilience of both On-Prem and Cloud systems, ensuring they meet strict security and performance standards. This position requires a professional who can partner with non technical business units to translate requirements into secure solutions and act as the senior escalation point for complex service delivery issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Azure Architecture: Design and manage scalable infrastructure with a focus on the full Azure platform, leveraging IaaS and PaaS offerings to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • System Optimisation: Proactively monitor the Azure ecosystem via Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to optimise performance, manage costs, and implement scaling strategies.
  • Security & Governance: Lead security assessments and oversee Microsoft Fabric administration, including capacity management, governance frameworks, and DLP.
  • Resilience & Recovery: Oversee IT backup and Disaster Recovery systems, utilising multi-region designs and regular testing to ensure platform stability.
  • Project Leadership: Manage infrastructure projects and lead incident management activities, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
  • Third-Level Support: Provide expert technical assistance for complex hardware and software issues, maintaining a focus on high-quality customer service.
  • Knowledge Management: Create runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation to facilitate operational readiness and team training.

Selection Criteria

  • Azure Expertise: Heavy experience across the entire Azure platform is essential, including Virtual Machines, Logic Apps, SQL Database, Entra ID (Azure AD), Storage, and Networking.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Hybrid Systems: Proven capability in building secure integrations between M365, SaaS platforms, and on-premises environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of cloud principles, including elasticity, high availability, and secure cloud networking.
  • Certifications: Azure Administrator Associate or Solutions Architect Expert (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
